OUR MEMBERSHIP BASE
Many of the senior citizens within our communities often find themselves
virtually alone coping with the effects of retirement, bereavement, the loss of
long time friends and acquaintances within their peer groups, minimal or no
family attachments, physiological decline, steadily dwindling resources and
purchasing power, and increasing governmental complexity regarding services and
benefits available to them. The support programs and services which SESCIL
offers attempt to straddle the gap between the much needed, but limited,
socializing provided by local senior citizen centers and those permanent-stay
facilities such as homes for the aged which service the infirm elderly.
Our 1500 members are comprised of a variety of ethnic, racial, religious and socio-economic backgrounds and reside in all types of community settings. All are welcomed from any town in New Jersey and even beyond.
