FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SESCIL, Englewood February 14, 2009 The Southeast Senior Center for Independent Living (SESCIL) of Englewood, New Jersey, has a multifaceted and humane approach to providing seniors with programs that are in sync with their needs. In addition to low-fee dentistry, exercise, music, language, weight loss and recreational programs, SESCIL hosts a monthly Finance / Investment discussion group specifically aimed at issues relevant to seniors.

Moderated by retired executive Kevin X. Kyle, a Certified Senior Advisor, the group meets on the next to last Tuesday of each month in SESCIL’s Landmark building. The group is open to all, especially those seeking an interesting exchange of knowledge, experience, information and ideas in an informal setting. “We are exercising our financial mind” is the way moderator Mr. Kyle describes the program. No financial advice is given; rather, the exchange of information during discussions constitutes the group’s focus. Taxes and changes to the 2008 tax rules that might affect seniors will be the subject of the group discussions. In addition, any new Stimulus package passed by the Federal government will be explained in detail.

Each week’s discussion notes, supplemented by Internet research, are posted on the SESCIL Website at www.sescil.org and available to anyone with access to the Internet. Group participants run the gamut from novices - and those with limited experience who may wish to protect and conserve their savings - to more sophisticated investors, who are more experienced and/or interested in exploring the great variety of investment vehicles available.

Seniors, 55 and over, can benefit from SESCIL’s myriad programs and services by simply joining the Center, free of charge: all they need to do is to call 201-569-4080. There is no charge for any classes held at the Center. For more information on any or all of SESCIL’s comprehensive programs and services, you may visit its Website at www.sescil.org. Once there, go ahead and explore its many interesting features on senior-related issues, such as regular exercises and activities especially designed with seniors in mind.
